About the Project

Develop UK were awarded the strip out and design and build refurbishment of the 1300m2 2 nd floor within the Arup London Head Office. 

The floor space was stripped back in its entirety. Raised flooring systems, glazed partitions, solid partitions, sanitary ware and ceiling tiles were all removed to bring the office space back to a shell and ready for CAT A fit out. 

Develop were responsible for the specification and design of newly installed lighting systems and door entry systems. Lighting and door entry systems were all coordinated with the new construction of office partitions. 

New kitchen and recycling centre facilities were procured and installed by Develop to bring the office space in line with current standards.

The Project team requested that Develop maintain responsibility for the specification of all systems to be installed, this required close coordination with the design team to ensure that their intent was accurately transferred through to reality. 

Whilst working in a live environment, security, logistics and minimising disruption were our main challenges to overcome. The Arup head office contains a central atrium through the floors, this made segregating our works from live operating office space very difficult. This was overcome with a combination of day and night working to avoid noisy activities disrupting the consultancy work taking place on other floors. 

Develop transferred the design intent into reality and delivered the scheme on time and on budget.
